I think it was the year 2000 or 2001 while I was in Dhaka that I came across this Sufi Peer. Back then, I thought that the Sufis were good religious Muslims. I really wanted to become a follower of the sufi peer. So, through my brother i requested to become his follower. However, he had a condition that i needed to meet to become from amongst his follower. His condition was that i see our Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhe wa sallam in my dream in three days. In order to achieve that, he told me to recite Surah al.Ikhlas i believe for certain amount of time at specific times of the day for these three days. If I did not see him in my dream, i would fail to become the peer’s follower, which i really did not want for myself. Thus, for three days, i was reciting Surah al.Ikhlas earnestly. I wanted to see the Prophet sallallahu alayhe wa sallam in my dream a great deal as well.
So, I believe it was in the third night that i had a dream. In my dream, someone hinted me to a man with long white beard and illuminating face to be the Prophet sallallahu alayhe wa sallam. I did not see his face. The dream was very brief. Then, I told my brother what i saw. He narrated the info. to the peer. Thereafter, i became his follower. He just gave me a lot of tasbih to recite at specific times of the day. I felt like that was useless. I really wanted to became religious and have someone guide me to correct path instead of giving me a lot of tasbih to recite daily. Nonetheless, i followed his advice and did what he told me.
Since those days, whenever someone asked me if i ever saw the Prophet sallallahu alayhe wa sallam in my dream, i would always remember that dream. The only question is: Was it really HIM sallallahu alayhe wa salalm that I saw in my dream? People asked me on it and i had no answers. Over the years, i learned many things. Therefore, i started to question the peer, his method of making others see the Prophet sallallahu alayhe wa sallam in dreams, and the individual being seen as a Prophet, if that’s the Prophet or not in reality.
Couple of weeks ago, i was having my aqeedah class on the three fundamental principles as explained by Shaykh Uthaymeen with Shaykah Umm Salamah. Shaykh Uthaymeen mentioned the fact of seeing the prophet in reality if one sees him based on his reported attributes. So, I asked my noble teacher, Shaykah Umm Salamah a lot of questions on this matter. I wanted to be clear about this matter. I told her about the peer, what he does, about my dream, and the dream of seeing the Prophet sallallahu alayhe wa sallam. When she asked me about the description of the man i saw in my dream as the Prophet sallallahu alayhe wa sallam, I told her that he had a white beard. My teacher replied saying that our Prophet sallallahu alayhe wa sallam didn’t have a white beard!!!!! It is reported from his companions that he only had few white hairs in his beard.
I was dumbfounded. Why didn’t I ever think of that!!!!!???? Thus, there, i never saw the Prophet sallallahu alayhe wa sallam in my dream. Not only that, the sufi peer was such an ignorant man with regard to the deen, he never verified this fact if one really saw the Prophet or not. I am quite sure he has NO knowledge in these regards because these sufis are really ignorant people fooled by Iblish and his troops. What’s more, some of those sufis claim to see the Prophet sallallahu alayhe wa sallam even when they are wake. Allahul Musta’an. I asked my teacher on this and she said, that’s Shaytan (or something like that, my memory faded away!!!!).
In conclusion, I never saw our beloved Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhe wa sallam in my dream!
